ATF’s Golden Rules - Expected standards of conduct 

All employees, contractors, volunteers and partner organisations are expected to demonstrate the highest standards of professional behaviour. This includes but is not limited to the following

1. Being a good example and role model: Having a positive attitude and using appropriate language and actions. Always demonstrating positive behaviour and professional competence. Having the ability to create a supportive, inclusive, safe and engaging environment for all. 

2. Having each other’s backs: Supporting, helping and being there for one another. Being loyal and trustworthy.  

3. Being respectful of everyone: Treating colleagues, community members, and participants with respect, courtesy, and professionalism, even during moments of conflict. Listening and being sympathetic to the needs of others.

4. Maintain professional boundaries: Maintaining physical, emotional and social boundaries, reducing the chances of misunderstandings to occur as a result of social and physical interaction. Avoiding situations that could cause a conflict of interests. Speaking transparently to a manager if you believe such a situation has arisen.

5. Share and report concerns: Reporting and escalating all safety and safeguarding concerns promptly.

6. Handle sensitive information appropriately: Acting with responsibility, maturity and care at all times, and maintaining confidentiality appropriately.

7. Being reliable, responsible and flexible: Being dependable, fulfilling job responsibilities and following through on commitments – because people are counting on us.

8. Arriving in good time and staying until things are finished: Being punctual and reliable, allowing enough time to set up and fulfil all duties as required. Always being responsible and accountable. 

9. Offer help when it is needed or before being asked: Being proactive, observant and considerate of others – trying to find a solution where possible.

10. If unsure reach out to ask for help: Reaching out to a supervisor, a colleague, or another member of the senior support team if you are unsure about a situation. ATF’s team are always on hand to support you and provide advice.
