Jack Petchey Awards 2023
The Jack Petchey Foundation was set up by Sir Jack Petchey to inspire and motivate young people across London and Essex to do their best and reach their full potential. The Jack Petchey Awards scheme is the perfect way to shine a light on some of the amazing young people who work with and support us.
This May we congratulated, Ash Jenkinson, Kieran Spratt, James Long, Chloe Mcready, Lucy Payne, Alisha Billet Davey, Leyla Hintz, Christina Kench, Kadi Cotter and Jake Newby. Having such dedicated and valuable young people involved in ATF is what really makes a difference. They are all a true inspiration to everyone around them.
Christina purchased some new sports equipment and ordered food for the Northlands ParkPlay where she volunteers weekly. This was a lovely celebration for her and the community.
Active Essex Awards
Active Essex Basildon Borough Council have supported us over the last two years to perfect our model and given us the capacity to invest in our community. It has also allowed us take positive risks in providing opportunities for community members and the results have been transformative. Thank you to Active Essex for our Strengthening Communities award, it is great to be able to give recognition to so many who work so hard, often under the radar to build community resilience.
The Ambassador of the Year Award went to the wonderful Mira Teodorescu. Jay Robinson collect the Active Education award for Northlands Primary School and Nursery! Huge congratulations to everyone. The Basildon community is beyond lucky to have such caring an passionate local individuals.
Facebook comment: “Congratulations ATF What you all do for our Community cannot be described in words. You change lives and give our kids the best childhood and direction in life”
Regional HAF Award
Amazing news to hear that we have won the regional award from the Dept of Education for our #HAF2023 holiday food and activities club. We have been lucky to have Active Essex and Southend-on-Sea City Council support us as have developed our Practice of Change.
HAF has done so much for our charity. It has provided our community members opportunities to volunteer and gain employment in a non threatening environment. It has also given young leaders the chance to learn new skills and grow in confidence. Most importantly it has given a generation of our young people in underserved areas the chance to experience the same opportunities as more affluent families can reach and make memories that will last a lifetime.
