Ash

Born in 1995 in Hackney, East London, Ash shares his experiences of living on busy Dalston Lane and reflects on how much the area has changed since he was a child.

Ash attended Daubeney Primary School and he enjoyed going to a local youth club, as well as the wide open space at London Fields, which was especially important due to living on a main road.

Moving to Essex at the age of 11 was a big change, and following some significant challenges during his teenage years, Ash is now thriving as a role model for local young people in his role as a community fitness coach.

This is especially fulfilling, as Ash has always been passionate about sports and wanted to teach PE when he was growing up…

One of Ash’s favourite memories of living in London is of spending happy times at his Nan’s, especially at Christmas.

Ash is glad to be able to use his passion for sports to encourage and support young people

Having grown up close to his extended family in East London, moving to Essex was a huge change, although Ash feels that there was much more to do in Essex

Nearby London Fields was a valued open space for Ash, who has always loved playing football from an early age.
